Snail Car
This was a really fun project to work on as I really liked the concept from the beginning and I ended up being involved in several different aspects of the production. I was chiefly responsible for rigging and animating the snail car and animating Mung Daal (the 2D character in the car) but also assisted with compositing and setting up some of the cameras.
I was pleased with the final spot and, apparently, so were a lot of other people as it went on to win a Silver Promax Award for “Funniest Promo.” Sweet!

Character Reel 2009
My latest character animation reel. I was responsible for all the animation you see here; CG, traditional, dynamic simulations, everything… If it moves, I moved it.

Shnitzel PSA
Designed as a spoof of the classic “The More You Know” spots on NBC, this was a fun and challenging promo to create. The challenging part was that I was essentially creating this promo by myself. Well, that’s not entirely true… I had help from C.H. Greenblatt and his crew at Cartoon Network Studios with some of the key poses (who were awesome guys to work with by the way) and help from the super-talented John Lau with some of the trickier drawing problems but aside from that, it was me tapping away on a Cintiq for a couple of weeks. Oh, and I decided to do all of the animation in Toon Boom Studio, which I’d never used before. Really hard task + steep learning curve = FUN!

Game Reviews
Toonami aired game reviews every now and then. Here are the last two I animated before the block was canceled.

Toonami Farewell
On September 20th, 2008, Cartoon Network pulled the plug on Toonami. Initially, there wasn’t going to be any goodbye message from Tom but we felt Toonami’s eleven year history deserved something. Over about two weeks of evenings and working around our regular responsibilities, we put together a short farewell from Tom.
I directed animation for the whole sequence and animated the last two shots.

Sprint & Fly
In early 2008 I had a bit of down time between projects and wanted to animate something with a bit more action than what we normally did. I made a sequence of Tom sprinting along as fast as he could go, then jumping into the air and flying away. The guys in my group loved it and wanted to do something bigger with the concept. So, during the evenings and between other “official” projects, we turned it into the sequence shown here. We then showed it to the directors and effectively said, “This is really cool and you should figure out some way to air it.” Much to my surprise, they did. For the last few months of Toonami, this was the sign-off sequence for the block.

Toonami Open 2007
For Toonami’s tenth anniversary we redesigned the entire block. Since Tom’s introduction he’d received incremental upgrades and changes over the years but this time we threw out everything but his voice and rebuilt it all from scratch. And to boot, we did everything in-house, which was a huge undertaking. This is the opening sequence that aired before the Saturday night block began.
For this sequence I set up the shots, worked out the edit, animated all of the characters and even got to help with the compositing.

Lunch Box of Doom!
Cartoon Network is always creating seemingly random, goofy things. This is one of them.
I was responsible for rigging and animating the lunch box.

Toonami Montage
I animated a ton of bumps for Toonami. Here are a few of the best.
